FEEDBACK FRIDAY - JOHN FORCE PRESENTS - THE ERIC MEDLEN PROJECT

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - JOHN FORCE PRESENTS - THE ERIC MEDLEN PROJECT

I would like to
thank you for this article on the John Force tribute to Eric Medlen .It shines
a light on the awesome person behind the Force Racing Team, John Force. Drag
racing fans everywhere should be honored to have John as the ambassador of the
sport we love. I believe John is one of the few true sports heroes of our time.

Eric always reminded me of John.  It is hard to believe he is gone. He is
missed by people who never spoke to him. He touched so many people. It's nice
to see a tribute of this stature to honor his memory. Because of Eric, many
will be saved. - Parish Williams, Surprise, AZ.

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - THE WORLD ACCORDING TO WJ

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - THE WORLD ACCORDING TO WJ

Very good article
said as expected no punch's pulled way to go Warren would like to see a book from him! - Barry
Daniluk, Red Deer, Alberta

There is a reason they call him the Professor. If people don’t like what he has
to say, tough &^%$! This guy has been racing Pro Stock since its inception
30 years ago. Does he know a few things about racing?? HELL YES! He has probably
forgot more than some people will ever know about anything. Time to get off of
my soapbox now. - Alan Phillips

I think WJ is dead on with the Friday night racing, if you don't get in then
you might as well go home.

Besides who wants to drive home at 11 pm at night with a ton of drunk rednecks
ie: Bristol Dragway. - Mark Vincent, Mt.
Holly, NC

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - THE AUSTRALIAN CONTROVERSY

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - CONTROVERSY DOWN UNDER

You have hit the
nail on the head

The sportsman racers are not taking it any more we will go down fighting but I
really think we will win.

The promoters in
our sport have had it to good for to long it is time the racers had more say. -
Margaret Hartill-Law , NSW Australia

I don't know who
or how got all that information, but congratulations.  You have managed to
encapsulate the problem accurately.

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - A THANK YOU TO EVAN KNOLL

I would
personally like to thank Evan Knoll for the Viet Nam Veteran's T/F dragster
driven by Melanie Troxel.  The medals meant nothing even when the monument in
Washington D.C. was built but seeing this dragster not only brought tears to my
eyes but brought a smile to my heart to know that someone
cares.

We veterans of
that "war" were treated so badly by the public upon our return to the United
States.  We were truly the forgotten ones, hated and
reviled.

As a Veteran of
that War who served our Country proudly during that time I know I speak for
thousands when I say we appreciate it very much.

Yours
truly - William

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - FROM A FORMER DRIVER

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - A
LAST STAND FOR THE OLD SCHOOL - THE CHI-TOWN 25

Great story!

As I sat here reading this piece, I went through a lot of very
special memories of the early days of fuel funny car racing. I had the honor and
priviledge of being part of the Chi-Town group, as their driver for 2 years ['75
and '77]. No one can begin to imagine what it's like to work with, live with,
and race with Austin Coil. The man is truly a genious. No one in the Nitro
racing world ever did so much, with so little. I have a lot of fun to this day,
being able to share the memories of the good old days in fuel racing, especially
the ones with coil. I could, or should, write a book about it. Having worked for
Frank Hawley at the school for 6 years, before I retired, gave me many chances
to relive some of those memories. Sometimes, during the down time when it was
raining in Florida, Frank and I would talk to the students, and compare stories.
I dont get to talk to Austin much these days, he's a pretty busy guy, but when
we do get to chat, it's a lot of smilin, laffin, knee slappin memories.
This
modern day fuel racing is way too serious, and stressfull. These guys are all
walkin heart attacks. In the early days....

WE HAD FUN! - Denny Savage, Gainesville, FL.

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - AN INSPIRATION FOR FORCE

LAST STAND FOR THE OLD SCHOOL - THE CHI-TOWN 25

I liked it!
I was able to see that fabled car back in the match race days and into national
event level and on to a championship.  This achievement must have helped
encourage Austin Coil to team up with, John Force. -
Jack W Smith, Chesapeake, VA

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - A SIMILAR STORY

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - VIETNAM AND THRUSH MUFFLERS

I just read your article on Comp Plus about Thrush mufflers reminding you of
Viet-Nam. My story is almost identical except I was too young to go to Viet-Nam
in 1968. However, my first car was a primer-grey 1955 Chevy with a 265 and two
speed Powerglide. I got the car when I was a junior in HS (70-71) in
Weaverville, NC (about 10 miles north of Asheville). I had the car for about two
years and then traded up for a 1957 Chevy 210 with a Saginaw three-speed. Yep,
mine had an 8-track, Sonic 8" or 9" tires (remember those????), some
off-the-wall headers, Thrush mufflers, Hurst shifter, and a Holley 4. Your
article just brought back some fond memories of my days in the garage with my
dear departed dad. I miss them. Thank you for bringing them back. - Chris
Buck, Tucson, AZ

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN THAT EXCHANGE

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - VIETNAM AND THRUSH MUFFLERS

Interesting story.  I would have like to be a fly on the wall when your dad
realized the rumble.  It takes balls to sign up for something you know will put
you in harm's way. - Mike Corvo, Jr.,
