FEEDBACK FRIDAY - THE WORLD ACCORDING TO WJ

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - THE WORLD ACCORDING TO WJ

Very good article said as expected no punch's pulled way to go Warren would like to see a book from him! - Barry Daniluk, Red Deer, Alberta

There is a reason they call him the Professor. If people don’t like what he has to say, tough &^%$! This guy has been racing Pro Stock since its inception 30 years ago. Does he know a few things about racing?? HELL YES! He has probably forgot more than some people will ever know about anything. Time to get off of my soapbox now. - Alan Phillips

I think WJ is dead on with the Friday night racing, if you don't get in then you might as well go home.

Besides who wants to drive home at 11 pm at night with a ton of drunk rednecks ie: Bristol Dragway. - Mark Vincent, Mt. Holly, NC

WJ is right about NHRA and the fans. Memphis 2006 was my last race because of NHRA's treatment of the paying spectators. When the race was delayed because of rain, we waited at the track for several hours, expecting some word of when the race would be resumed. At one point we were told by officials that the race would be held that night, even up to midnight to avoid coming back the next day. We left the track at 10:00 p.m. with no word from track officials of any rescheduling. The race resumed early the next morning. With no warning, (the trip to the track was over two hours), and no time to prepare, (some of us work you know), we saw little racing.

As far as I am concerned NHRA defrauded me out of my  money by not supplying the product they sold.

All they had to do was make an announcement over the PA system letting the spectators know of their plans. This did not happen during the several hours after the delay. As I was told by a professional racer at this meet , "Glendora has their money secured. Once that happens, they don't care about the racers or the fans."

I no longer care about NHRA and rarely watch on TV anymore. And I will not be going back to Memphis this year. - Jim McClain, Savannah, GA.

It’s funny that WJ calls NHRA’s management delusional (which I agree) while espousing his opinion of the relationship between Pro Stock and Nitro Racing. Quote..."In reality it’s just mechanical masochism. It’s not about racing. It’s about seeing how much you can blow up on that day. The only reason nitro racing exists is because of the NHRA’s delusional management."

Apparently WJ doesn’t see the fans leaving in droves from the stands at most events when the last nitro car runs and Pro Stock is next.

Everyone deserves an opinion, but WJ's highlights the difference between Nitro Racers and Pro Stock guys. The Nitro guys have respect for the type of racing Pro Stock brings to the sport, while the majority of Pro Stock contingent call us bomb builders and hacks.

Working for some of the most passionate racers (Jim Epler, Jerry Toliver, Chuck Etchells, Cory Mac to name a few.) over the past ten years, I have first hand knowledge of the dedication and passion it takes to work and maintain a competitive Nitro Car.

WJ might be well to remember why Pro Stock exists...to keep the track warm while we are servicing the real racecars. - ChadSacramento, CA Worton,

It's really a shame those in the sport I love are being tuned out! WJ a proven master of drag racing is correct on several levels. The best part of going to the drags for me is qualifying. This past Saturday a Maple Grove Toyo Nationals proved his point about track and weather conditions. The air was perfect, temperature was good and the numbers were fantastic. But after a number of fuel cars ran when it came time for the fourth round of qualifying the track condition were poor especially the left lane.

Somewhere along the way NHRA really lost their self.

The cost of Pro Stock can you say Formula-1 racing.

NHRA really had better start to listen to the likes of Warren Johnson if not the sport may become a novelty like Arena Football ALL flash and NO substance! - Harry T. Garland III, Philadelphia, PA.

I bet if Pepto Bismol gave him 3-4 mil a year he would drive a "Pink" car. LOL
Go get em WJ! - Annette Summer, Aiken, SC

Wonderful! He is and always will be the "Man". It is so refreshing to hear someone speak his mind in today’s world of Political Corruptness.
