FEEDBACK ARTICLE - VIETNAM AND THRUSH MUFFLERS

I just read your article on Comp Plus about Thrush mufflers reminding you of Viet-Nam. My story is almost identical except I was too young to go to Viet-Nam in 1968. However, my first car was a primer-grey 1955 Chevy with a 265 and two speed Powerglide. I got the car when I was a junior in HS (70-71) in Weaverville, NC (about 10 miles north of Asheville). I had the car for about two years and then traded up for a 1957 Chevy 210 with a Saginaw three-speed. Yep, mine had an 8-track, Sonic 8" or 9" tires (remember those????), some off-the-wall headers, Thrush mufflers, Hurst shifter, and a Holley 4. Your article just brought back some fond memories of my days in the garage with my dear departed dad. I miss them. Thank you for bringing them back. - Chris Buck, Tucson, AZ
