FEEDBACK FRIDAY - THE AUSTRALIAN CONTROVERSY

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - CONTROVERSY DOWN UNDER

You have hit the nail on the head

The sportsman racers are not taking it any more we will go down fighting but I really think we will win.

The promoters in our sport have had it to good for to long it is time the racers had more say. - Margaret Hartill-Law , NSW Australia

I don't know who or how got all that information, but congratulations.  You have managed to encapsulate the problem accurately.

I don't know who or how got all that information, but congratulations.  You have managed to encapsulate the problem accurately.

I am, unfortunately, the person nominated to take up the legal challenge of the DRDF.  We are sportsman racers.  We collectively make up 96% of ANDRA.  To date we have been given no information, business plan or marketing strategies or if there are even any benefits for the majority of ANDRA members. We have been told pay the levy or don't race.  Sorry that is no longer acceptable and yes we are trying hard to regain our Association.  I have unsuccessfully tried to negotiate and help get information flowing, unfortunately that is not a strong suit of ANDRA/Drags Ltd.  We have no option now but to take up the challenge and ask the appropriate legal authority for ruling and guidance.  It really gives me the s%$^&%, as down under we have an amazing family of drag racers from groups 1-4, it is very rare to get a cross word from anyone.  Hope we can resolve this squabble and get on top of our promotional agenda in a fair and equitable manner.  - Anne Fowler, Australia

One more thing for your info.  In our sportsman group, our prize money 15 years ago was $900 a win. Entry fee $25.00. Now, the entry fees range from $300.00 to $350.00 prize money is exactly the same, and to compete at National events, if Kwinana costs us in excess of $4000.00 to travel. Why do we do it?  because we love our sport.  Can we get sponsors? Not really, as what do we have to offer them?  Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. - Anne Fowler, Australia
