FEEDBACK FRIDAY - WHAT ABOUT THE JUNIOR RACERS

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - BRISTOL DRAGWAY'S JEFF BYRD SPEAKS

Hey Jeff Byrd,

What about the junior racers that were inconvienced by your
decision?  You never noce mentioned them.  Great job takng care of, or even
thinking about "the future of drag racing". - Shawn C, Denver, CO.

EDITOR'S NOTE: To make room for the rescheduled NHRA event, Bristol Dragway was forced to move their Junior Dragster event to another date.

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - BYRD IS A STRAIGHT-UP SHOOTER

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - BRISTOL DRAGWAY'S JEFF BYRD SPEAKS

We too were disappointed in the cancellation of the race this week...we had a
lot of clients, employees and potential sponsors primed to come to Thunder
Valley...for the best race of the year. It is a set back for everyone, however,
I have known Jeff Byrd for many years and he certainly would have only the
racers and fans in mind from a safety standpoint...They did the right
thing....Back the day Bristol opened in the 60's I happened to be working with
Buster on the starting line and asphalt was coming up then and pelting the
bottom of the timing tower...that too was dangerous but we got through it
without incident...Just lucky I guess....keep up the good work. - Jerry Coley

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - IT WILL BE HOT, BUT WORTH THE WAIT

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - BRISTOL DRAGWAY'S JEFF BYRD SPEAKS

I'm a Thunder Valley National's ticket holder and have been since the inaugural
one in 2001. I was very dissapointed to hear the news that the event had been
postponed till July, but I'm sure the the staff at BMS did everything humanly
possible to keep from that happening, but sometimes things are just out of your
control. I don't exactly what happened and from what i've heard they don't know
either, but i,m sure everything will be done to make sure it doesn't happen
again. From a fans point of view it will be an inconvenience (hot & humid)
but I'd rather wait till july than go this weekend to an unsafe event.
Bobby R. Burns, Valdese N.C.

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - WHAT ABOUT THE SUPPORTING CAST?

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - BRISTOL DRAGWAY'S JEFF BYRD SPEAKS

I am very sad that everyone seems to be apologizing to the fans at Bristol for
the race being rescheduled. What about the 6 weeks of grueling schedule for the
race teams who drive the open road, wash and shine equipment, set up, work on
the cars and race, service, tear down, and head down the road for the next
destination. We seem to be concerned about safety on the track but what about
off the track.  Is it safe?  Talk to the guys after a 3 race back to back and
they will tell you how tiring it was.  I only hope and pray for everyone's
safety after 6 back to backs.  We hope Mother Nature doesn't hand us any more
surprises on top of this one!!

Thanks for listening!! - JoAnne V Reynolds, Avon, IN

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - THE RIGHT DECISION ON BRISTOL

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - BRISTOL DRAGWAY'S JEFF BYRD SPEAKS

It was
good that Bruton Smith's company and NHRA decided to error on the cautious side.
The cars and the people that drive them are way to precious and fragile that we
need not have their safety put in jeopardy but inadequate conditions. I am
certain all true fans of the sport of drag racing will heartily agree. In light
of the Eric Medlen tragedy we cannot take anything for granite anymore. Great
decision Bristol and NHRA!!!! - Dennis Smith, Belmont,ON, Canada

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - ANSWERED A LOT OF QUESTIONS

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - BRISTOL DRAGWAY'S JEFF BYRD SPEAKS

This is the best article I could find on the subject. I am a fan, and I work in
the concrete supply industry, so I have a twofold interest of the subject. Good
questions were asked, and the GM was very up front with his answers. - Good Job! -
Robert Cleeland, Rancho Cucamonga, CA

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, GOT THE T-SHIRT

FEEBACK ARTICLE - AN UNHEARD OF PAYDAY IN BRISTOL

I remember that event, even had the green t-shirt that said: "Quarter Mile Dash
For A Whole Lotta Cash." - David Tolley, Charlotte, NC.

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - DIDN'T HAVE A DNQ; HAD A PRIORITY

FEEBACK ARTICLE - AN UNHEARD OF PAYDAY IN BRISTOL

I enjoyed the Bristol story and remember that weekend well.

I am aware after
27 years this might look like Nit-Picking but for the record I was not one of
the DNQ cars  but rather one who had two contracted Race dates on the Bristol
rain date.

These were two cars Match Races using my car for their pre-event
advertising and I OWED it to them to be there.

The funny part of this story
is I left the rig at the IHRA bldg in Bristol and drove back to Atlanta and when I
came back on Thursday to drive the rig on to my two events Ted Jones stopped me
driving out and asked "What are you doing"

He just couldn't believe it until
I asked him "Ted if you were still running Muncie Dragway and I was under
contract with you for this date would you want me to stay here at Bristol---He
waved me on.

BTW--I see ChiTown is also on the DNQ list I'm pretty sure they
had the same situation. - Frank Oglesby, Ellijay,GA

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - KEEPING THE FAN'S HOPES ALIVE

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - JIM CUNNINGHAM - BLUE OVAL PROUD

Jim. I think you are doing a GREAT thing, trying to keep the ford fans hopes
alive. I too would love to see Bob Glidden and his sons join you and your team
and become a two car terror. That alone would strike fear in the hearts of all
the other pro stock teams. Good Luck, RICHARD, A DIEHARD FORD FAN and supporter
of the underdog. - Richard Arbiso, Upland, Calif.

FEEDBACK FRIDAY - STILL WEARING THE FORD SHIRT

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - JIM CUNNINGHAM - BLUE OVAL PROUD

As a 63-year die hard ford fan and the only guy wearing Jim Cunningham T-shirts
at the 3 national events that I attend every year, I wish him all the luck in
the world.  I appreaciate what Jim is trying to do.  I felt the same about
Hurley and spent much time bench racing with him on the Thursdays of National
events and he would be so excited at the last 10 hoursepower that they found but
still wasn't enough to get them into the field.

Good luck Jim!  See ya in
Vegas next spring. - R J  Regan, Silver Springs, NV
