BROGDON - KENT RACING MAKES KEY PERSONNEL ACQUISITIONS?

The news continues to trickle out of the Pro Stock ranks with a source telling CompetitionPlus.com of two major crew chief signings. Word has it Terry Adams has left Mike Edwards and the Penhall Racing team to join Brogdon - Kent Racing. Earlier this week we are told Tommy Lee, most recently with Ron Krisher, also joined the Brogdon - Kent team.

KRISHER’S OPERATION PURCHASED BY STEVENS?

Word has it soon-to-be married couple Erica Enders and Richie Stevens have made a significant investment into their future.  Our source, a solid one, has told us they have purchased the racing operation of Ron Krisher. No word how many races the car will run this season at this moment.

PRO TURBO INSTEAD OF 10.5 TIRE RACING?

In the spirit of the ADRL's Pro Extreme (superchargers) and Pro Nitrous classes comes word has it there will be a Pro Turbo division in both the new ADRL and XDRL. In both venues, we hear the odd man out is the lightly supported Extreme 10.5 division. If the ADRL doesn't run the Pro Turbo class, don't be surprised if you see X275 [Drag Radial] division.

HERE COMES THE XDRL?

Just when you thought the ADRL sale scenario was settled comes word another group will emerge to fight for the same market share. We are told on the same day as new owners Kenny and Jessica Nowling are to stage a press conference that a Texas-based group, comprised mainly of the most recent staff members of the ADRL, will announce a ten-race series for 2013. The XDRL, we are told, will run in many of the same venues as the 2012 ADRL. This one should get interesting.

PRO STOCK TEAMS PARKING?

CompetitionPlus.com hears rumblings which suggests at least two of the top ten Pro Stock finishers could be parked for 2013. We are told by a reliable source their crew chiefs could wind up with new teams before the start of December testing in Bradenton, Fla.

LEE BEARD RELEASED?

While an official statement should be forthcoming soon, a source close to Cruz Pedregon racing has confirmed Lee Beard has been released as the tuner for the team. Pedregon won the final event of the 2012 season by defeating Courtney Force in the final round.


ADDITIONS TO THE 'NEW' ADRL?

With a reported change of ownership at the ADRL, word has a number of changes are in the works already. The ADRL organization has long been a doorslammer oriented program, but starting in 2013 Top Dragster could be part of the program. Also, we are hearing Royal Purple Raceway Park located outside of Houston, Tex., and one of the tracks which was expected to leave the fold will be back in 2013. Don't be surprised if you see a track in South Georgia on the schedule as well.

MASSEY RELIEVED OF DUTIES AT DSR?

A source close to Don Schumacher Racing has told CompetitionPlus.com that Top Fuel driver Spencer Massey was terminated on Friday. The source says that DSR will soon make the termination official, but will not offer a reason for the termination.

THE ADRL SALE IS COMPLETED?

While nothing is official, word has it the ADRL sale has been completed. Per Facebook postings, an ownership group led by former ADRL President and founder Kenny Nowling's wife Jessica was the successful bidder in buying the doorslammer-oriented association. An official announcement could come as soon as this week.
