CANNONS FACE ADVERSITY HEAD-ON

Scotty Cannon will tell
you that his career has yielded some tough situations despite winning six world
championships. However, this week he was dealt a blow that remains
unprecedented in his career.

The sponsor for both
Cannon and his world championship-winning son Scott Jr., learned days ago that
their major sponsor Torco Race Fuels had suspended all motorsports team sponsorships.

The 2008 season is the
first-ever title defense for Scott, Jr., the 2007 IHRA Pro Modified champion.

STACKING THE DECK IN PRO MOD

Longtime Gotham City Racing crew chief Chuck Ford told Torco's
CompetitionPlus.com that he was looking to cultivate talent within the
team as well as bring in a few talented outsiders as part of the new
Roger Burgess and Mike Ashley Pro Modified alliance. Today, the GCR
team scored a coup.

Mike Ashley confirmed that veteran tuner Howard Moon has left the AMS Staff Leasing team to join their operation.

BAMM MOTORSPORTS HEADED AUTOMATIC PRO MODIFIED RACING

It is amazing what a New Years Eve gathering can bring about. Four close friends decided it
was time to

step into the wild and crazy Automatic Pro Modified arena for a full
assault on a 2008 championship.
Jeff Miles, Jack Barfield, Bryan "Lil Mo" Morris and Jim Arpin are the
members of the group set to
start testing the new TM Race cars 63 Corvette powered by a Fulton 762".

Barfield, owner of Atlantic Underground Utilities and Macon National
Dragway has been involved
with Outlaw 10.5 racing in the ever popular ORSCA organization for over 5
years. He held the world
record for 2 years in 2003 and 2004 as well as a series champion in 2004.
Barfield has always
wanted to jump into the Pro Modified ranks but just never was able to put
the right team together
until now. "This is a deal I have been waiting on for a while to put
together and we finally decided
this was the right time" stated Barfield.

THE NITROPLATE DOT STREET FIGHT

Roger Gustin, President of AutoStar Productions, Inc. announced today that a new
sponsor has entered the ranks of the Super Chevy Show.  NitroPlate Performance Coatings has been
named the Title Sponsor of the NitroPlate DOT Street Fight at all Super Chevy
Show events in 2008.  NitroPlate will
also be the Pro Engineered Car Class Sponsor within the TREMEC Car Show Series,
and will attend around 10 events during the season.

WILD THINGS ARE COMING!

It's no secret that outlaw style racing has rapidly become one of the
hottest venues to hit the drag racing scene. Blossoming in the southern
states and making its way to each coast, fans have been able to
experience some of the wildest heads up action that only an outlaw
doorslammer series can provide.

For those who live in the Midwest, there is an eighth mile series that
has been steadily growing called Outlaw Street Madness. Friendly, fun
and affordable, this series includes three heads up classes and two
index
classes offering something for every level of player.

If you think Outlaw 10.5 is wild, OSM's Outlaw 8.5 is simply off the
hook! Yes that's right. eight and a half inches of tire putting down
times as fast as mid five second passes. And dragging the bumper to
boot! This little class has exploded, so much that it has prompted tire
makers such as Mickey Thompson to take an interest in the possibility
of re-developing the tire, making it safer for the increasing speed and
workload.
