AMERICAN RACING HEADERS STRENGTHENS COMMITMENT TO FUN FORD WEEKEND

American Racing Headers today announced they are strengthening their
commitment to Ford racers by becoming the Official Header of Fun Ford
Weekend. That move comes on the heels of their sponsorship of Fun
Ford’s Mod Comp class last year.

“We’re very committed to a higher standard in performance and quality,”
said Nick Filippides, CEO of the company. “It’s what sets us apart.
Customers have found that our product fits great, installs easily and
makes great power. Furthermore, our customers are also proud that our
product line is 100% made in the USA. We don’t use stainless steel
imported from China.”

MORE THAN BANNER ADVERTISING

Funny thing happened to us at ProStreetPlus.com on the way to making an
ad campaign. The 1957 Chevy that we use in our banner advertising
campaign is for sale.

BILLY GLIDDEN – A BUSY, BUSY MAN

Billy Glidden’s spare time
will be valuable in 2008 thanks to his Mickey Thompson Tires “big tire” development
assignments. Between the rigors of testing and keeping the test machine
maintained, Glidden and his wife Shannon will have little time for any other
drag racing.

At this point in the game,
Glidden can not make any promises outside of the test program whether he'll race any Outlaw 10.5.

“At the time I don’t really have any plans,” Glidden said in a recent phone
conversation. He’d just wrapped up a long stretch of road time where he was at
the Dart Machinery headquarters in Troy, Michigan assembling engines for the
tire test car as well some for the Justin Humphrey team to test.

Being a member of the
Glidden family carries a pre-requisite of long hours in the shop and successful
results on the track. The son of Pro Stock legend Bob Glidden is truly a chip
off the old block.

CAMP’S TALES – THINK IT’S A PASSING FAD?

stanley.jpgShould anyone need
ironclad proof that street legal-style racing is maintaining its market growth
patterns they only need to experience a race or two or three in the Northeast
or down in ORSCA country in the South. Or perhaps they might want to venture
out to Texas or take a trip to Detroit! They might be amazed at the sights and
sounds their senses are bombarded with!

The car and
spectators counts may be deteriorating in the big name organizations and some
competitors have finally given up, as my friend Tony Depillo did. I have
watched this Outlaw style of racing grow in the Northeast with my own eyes over
the last several years. And trust me (they all say that), the spiral is one heading
upward and not downward.

The three major
classes in this style of racing have become Outlaw 10.5, the headline class of
all the organizations much to the chagrin of the other class’ hitters. The
ever-popular Heavy class follows up outlaw 10.5. And then we have the Radial
guys with the wheels in the air, bumper dragging, out the back door antics.

Now some of you out
there in cyberspace may wonder what in the name of Hades is this person going
on about? What can he know about Outlaw racing? It is true that my roots run
real, real deep in the Top Sportsman/Pro Mod type of cars. However, they run
much deeper in the Outlaw antics. The guys and gals in today’s cars do more
with less than anyone would have thought possible several years ago. The limiting
factors in this type of racing have become one of two things, tires or weight.
But how did they get to the stage where they now are. I envision that it to
went something like I have outlined below.

BRYCE'S HEMI BARRACUDAS

george_bryce.jpg

g_bryce.jpgIf you’ve been keeping up with the assortment of new car images within
Torco’s CompetitionPlus.com’s “What’s New for 2008” section, chances
are you noticed an incredibly impressive A/Super Modified 1968 Plymouth
Barracuda with Pro Stock Bike icon George Bryce’s name on it. This car
is no paper tiger confirmed Bryce on Monday, January 18^th . Bryce, in
a phone conversation, said this Mopar dream is the real deal.

Bryce will produce a number of these classic Mopars as part of a new
business venture he’s created named B2 Hemi Cars. The classic Mopar
program will be in collaboration with Mopar Hemi stalwart Ray Barton.

Bryce's
Competition eliminator car will feature a paint scheme honoring the
fallen Pro Stock Bike champion John Myers, who lost his life in a
non-racing accident.

“The race car is going to be my flagship for the B2 Hemi car,” Bryce
said. “This will be a nine-second street car with 800 horsepower, all
aluminum Hemis. They’re gonna do wheelstands – that’s a necessity.
They're fully NHRA certified for 9 second competition. They'll have air
conditioning, power windows, power steering and leather interior. They
will have a 9-inch rear, RAM dual disc clutch, show car quality paint
and they're going to be serial numbered and very exclusive.”

REBOUNDING FROM A CRASH; YEARS LATER

Outlaw 10.5 Racer Planning Return to Competition Thanks To Friends
gto_01.jpg
Some accidents can’t be erased at the snap of a finger.

Canadian Outlaw 10.5 racer Eddie Timal will always be reminded of what
could have been a fatal accident during the 2005 World Street Nationals
in Orlando, Florida. Timal’s classic turbocharged GTO struck the Armco
guardrail and became airborne before barrel-rolling violently down the
track sidelines.

Timal can’t seem to shake the memory of that accident. Neither can he shake a desire to return to competition.

A dream will be realized this October when Timal will return to Outlaw
10.5 Competition at the 2008 Orlando World Street Nationals. When he
launches in a brand-new 2000 C-5 Corvette, somewhere in the back of
Timal’s mind will be the day he became the subject of a violent crash sequence shot by the leading photographers.

JANZEN BACK FOR MORE

The veteran racer and founding Pro Modified Racing
Association (PMRA) member will get behind the wheel of the KC Motorsports Lumina
in 2008.

For 2007, Janzen had fellow PMRA
driver Joe Lilienthal of Kenmore, New York drive his car.

“This year will about the same as last year,” said the
2006 PMRA co-champion. “Except I’m going to drive.”

And other that some engine work, Janzen stated the car and
team will be pretty much as last year. Craig Masterson will continue as the
team’s crew chief.
