The outlook for the ’08 season just got significantly brighter for doorslammer fans in the southeast. George Howard Racing announced today the formation of the “Southern Outlaw Tour ’08”. The series will consist of seven races throughout the year with events at Bristol Dragway, Huntsville Dragway & Montgomery Motorsports Park with a points champion to be crowned in each class.

Each event will have something for everyone. Classes include Outlaw Blown Promod, Outlaw Nitrous Promod, Big Dog, Outlaw 10.5, Limited Street as well as 5.0, 6.0 & 7.0 heads up index classes. Of course no George Howard event would be complete without big money brackets thrown in.

The series will kick off in Bristol on April 4-6 with Both Promod classes as well as Big Dog and Outlaw 10.5 providing a $10,000 payday to the race winner at that event. Promod and Outlaw 10.5 will be 16 car fields while Big Dog will be an 8 car field. Regarding the index classes, 5.0 will be a 16 car field while both 6.0 & 7.0 will be all run. This event will also include bracket action with $5,000 to win. Competitors purchasing a $55 3 day ticket will receive a free tech card.

Bristol & Huntsville race dates will be 3 day events with one qualifying pass on Friday followed by three shots on Saturday & eliminations on Sunday. Montgomery race dates will feature two day events.

April 4-6 - Bristol Dragway
May 2-4 - Huntsville Dragway
June 20-21 - Montgomery Motorsports Park
July 3-5 - Huntsville Dragway
Aug 15-16 - Montgomery Motorsports Park
Sept 5-6 - Montgomery Motorsports Park
Oct 31-Nov 2 - Huntsville Dragway
