MORE BIG O HATE MAIL

It would be easy for you guys to "Mention" the word "Boycott". Big O is
dead wrong and just playing bully. I for one will NEVER buy another tire from
Big O. I own a car dealership and we purchase 50 to 100 sets per year. Big O
Tires has just been taken out of the hat as far as my business is concerned. If
enough racers do this it will likely get their attention. We gotta stick
together and stand up for each other if we want this great sport to continue to
get better.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE "O"

Big paran O ia is nOt a cOmpany I am that familiar with as a resident Of
nOrth Texas. Here, the tire stOres Owned by the parent cOmpany of Big l O ser is
called NTB or NatiOnal Tire & Battery. In suppOrt Of Dick Maskin, I'd like
thOse in Texas tO knOw where yOu shOuld direct yOur indignation if yOu feel like
I dO. There are plenty Of tire stOres in my neighbOrhOOd with legal departments
that dO nOt demOnstrate such a blatant disregard fOr cOmmOn sense and fair play,
and I will be mOre than happy tO dO business with them. This is a great thing as
I nOw have One less place tO cOnsider when my vehicles need tires Or autOmOtive
service.

CAN'T STAY SILENT

Note on the Big O vs Dick Maskin situation. Negative consumer reaction is
very serious to businesses who depend on good will. There are any number of tire
stores in any given area and no one dealer has any better "deal" than any of
their competitors. If racers want to protest, check out bigotires.com and go to
the various areas to view the companies, locations, contact info, and especially
the area on their racing activities. Racing fans in general are loyal to the
products that support their form of entertainment. That same equation works in
reverse, but only if people will speak up. The bad guys can only win if the good
guys keep silent.

JUST DON'T SEE IT

Having worked in the past with the legal department at a SEMA company
on trademark stuff I understand the importance of protecting trademarks
and designs, especially with trade dress issues. However, until reading
the Big O vs. Dart I never put the two together. I also see the
Overstock.com commercials often and never put them with a tire store
either. Sounds like a reach to me and you can use this as testimony,
defendants, any time you wish!

Sounds like TBC's legal budget is too big and a VP needs to justify his existence.

Just my $.02.

NOT MAKING ENOUGH?

Sounds like Big O can’t make enough money selling tires so they have to use these law suits to supplement their income. What we need to do is get this information to anyone that has even the slightest interest in racing. Than request that when their car needs tires go to anyone but Big O. Racers and fans are loyal and we should be able to get something going.

SUCKING UP

This sounds more like a guy in a company trying to keep his job by being able to say "Look what I did for you " or in this case "look how much i made for you by screwing all these people". I hope your story hits home , or at least their pocket book by costing them customers.

RACING COMMUNITY NEEDS TO BOND TOGETHER

Looks like any one involved in motorsports should boycott Big O Tires and anything its parent company owns, plus should encourage their friends to do the same.. none of this sounds confusing to me.. I have not personally used any Dart products, however this goes beyond personal usage.

WRITE IN, PART 2

Get Maskin to make a plea to all in drag racing to write and email Big O that they will never buy any tires from their company again for their stupid attack on Maskin. Should not be hard to do with the internet, that might O-pen their eyes.

WAKE UP CALL NEEDED

Why dont all drag race persons and all their families boycot Big O tires? I mean everyone. Do you think this might give them a wake up call,(just sell your junk tires and leave honest people alone)!

GOTTA PAY THE LAWYERS SOMEHOW

Yes I have a comment. Big O can take a big leap off the nearest cliff; this is typical big management structure in which they are seeking ways to generate revenue through an overpriced legal department. I commend Maskin and Dart for fighting the good fight and best of luck to them. This is not good for the industry and is obviously not an infringement on Big O or their (un)intellectual property.
