Many race fans are outspoken in their longing for two distinct practices missing from major league drag racing, particularly in the fuel ranks.
One of those lost practices was the art of seating the clutch during the nitro warm-ups, an art lost to the advancement of clutch technology. The other is the "dry-hop;" the practice of nailing the throttle and quickly engaging the clutch once the car has lept forward.
