GANASSI-PRUDHOMME BACK ON?

It’s no secret that legendary drag racing team owner Don “the Snake” Prudhomme
has a cordial relationship with Chip Ganassi, who currently fields teams in
NASCAR, the IndyCar series and the Grand-Am sports car series. Fresh rumors are
now circulating that Ganassi not only likes drag racing, but reportedly believes
his involvement in the quarter mile sport could be mutually beneficial. He
recently called drag racing “a lot of fun,” but that doesn’t mean there’s an
imminent “deal” between the two in the works. Don’t look for anything solid
before next season, if even then.
It wouldn’t be the first time that a team owner more well known from involvement in another series took a stab at drag racing. Joe Gibbs had a fruitful involvement in the sport with backing from McDonald’s and Interstate Batteries back in the 90s.
