LIMITED EDITION SEAT CUSHIONS WITH MULTIPLE TICKET PURCHASES AT HRP

Houston Raceway Park already offers the best tickets prices in drag racing and now purchasing tickets to the upcoming O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals just got a little sweeter.

From now through Jan. 31, race fans purchasing two or more tickets to the 23rd annual O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals on April 9-11, will receive a free Houston Raceway Park licensed seat cushion.

"We want our race fans to be as comfortable as possible," said Seth Angel, general manager of Houston Raceway Park. "Our seat cushions will not only add an extra layer of comfort for fans attending the O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals, but will serve as an excellent souvenir commemorating their visit to the track. Plus, it's an item they can use again and again."

DIXON/AL-ANABI RACING TOP QUICK TUESDAY AT PBIR

Larry Dixon's 3.767, 322.11 blast on Tuesday afternoon's Al-Anabi Racing test session at Palm Beach International Raceway [PBIR] led the second day of nitro testing. The run eclipsed both ends of the current NHRA world records.

DONER REACHES FINAL OF WAR STORIES

Bill Doner used a convincing story of race promotion mischief to reach the final round of the 2009 – 20010 War Stories Showdown presented by Attitude’s CompetitionPlus.com.

Doner defeated southeastern doorslammer legend Rickie Smith by scoring 75.68 percent of the votes in their race.

SPEED TV TO AIR BODINE BOBSLED CHALLENGE IN LATE JANUARY

The fifth annual Lucas Oil Geoff Bodine Bobsled Challenge presented by Whelen Engineering will air in two parts on SPEED TV. The Olympic-style portion of the event, which pitted all of the NASCAR and NHRAS stars running two passes against the clock on the 20-turn course on historic Mount Van Hoevenberg, will be shown at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 24. The NHRA versus NASCAR Challenge will air one week later at 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31.

HEALED UP AND HEALTHY, SCOTT RAY RETURNS IN 2010

Scott Ray, after a year of rehabilitation following a heart attack, plans to compete in the 2010 NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla., this March.

Ray, a driver on the NHRA GSA Pro Modified tour, plans to drive his family's Ohio Crankshaft-sponsored 1963 Corvette for the first time since 2008.
