Force’s neat ride has plenty of flexibility.

“It can be easily transformed from a street legal Rod to a 900-horsepower diesel drag truck, and or a contender for the record at pikes peak or again for Bonneville with a mere one hour change of exhaust and injector components,” Force explained. “The Transmission is an Allison 4-Speed auto, driving a rear end ratio to rocket this vehicle to a terminal speed of just over 190 MPH.”

Manners_WCIt is a rivalry still in its infancy, but the battle between Bill Evans and Mike Manners has already developed into one of the most intense in the series.

For the second week in a row the talented drivers making up the new Pro Fuel class put on an incredible show and at the head of that list was Manners and Evans who traded the national record for the class back-and-fourth nearly half a dozen times before Manners finally walked away the victor Sunday afternoon.

“This weekend was a lot of fun. Obviously we were in the exact same position as Bill coming into the weekend with cars capable of setting records and it was fun battling him for the new mark,” Manners said. “Last night he went to bed with the record, but we redid things today and now we are walking away with the record.

RINI DOMINATES NMCA MILAN EVENT

riniA packed house and great racing action was the result of the NMCA’s trip to Milan Dragway in Milan, MI the weekend of August 27-29, 2010.  As this is the NMCA’s sixth race of seven, the points chase in each class was on the line and the end result was some fantastic racing action.

In the Scorpion Performance Pro Street class, Chris Rini took his ’07 Dodge Stratus straight to the top of the qualifying ladder as he re-set the national record to a 6.16 during Saturday’s sessions.  There, Noel Felton gathered a series of gifts, first from Troy Coughlin when Coughlin had some fluid leakage on the starting line, then a redlight from Jeff Lutz and a bye run into the final.  On the other side of the ladder, Rini decimated the competition to meet up with Felton for the finals.  Felton rolled in first, but when the tree came down he redlit, while Rini turned in an unbelievable 6.15 at over 231 MPH to take the win.

RICHARD HARTMAN DRIVES TO EMOTIONAL IHRA VICTORY

HartmanJust seven months ago following a bad fire at the season opening Palm Beach Nitro Jam in Florida Bob and Cathie Floch, owners of the well-known “Bullet Bob” Prostalgia Nitro Funny car, were on the verge of walking away from the sport after nearly four decades in the business.

With a destroyed car and seemingly no hope of repair by the season’s second race in Baton Rouge, the Floch family found themselves carefully weighing their options as to what to do next. Then came a miracle. Dozens of racers from across the country came to their aid, lending parts, cash and support to help get the “Bullet Bob” machine back on the track.

Now, exactly seven months after that fiery accident and the ensuing outpouring of support, “Bullet Bob” is back in victory lane.
