THIS POWER COUPLE AND SPORTSMAN VETERAN MAKE UP A FUN TRIO

This is the story of a man who, every time he went to the dragstrip, was like a kid in a candy store, and his wife ended up with the same sweet tooth. They also made acquaintance in stacking at an NHRA national event and became partners in the two-car NHRA Competition Eliminator team.

The story of Andrew Moeck, his wife Melissa Murphy, and driver Allen Wilson is both entertaining and inspirational.

Murphy, a freshman drag racer and driver of a B/Dragster Automatic entry, said her husband is her 52-year-old child, and his youthful enthusiasm created this story.

Four-time Top Fuel champion Shirley Muldowney has more than enough accomplishments to quantify her status as a drag racing legend. However, one of her most significant accomplishments often gets overshadowed.

Muldowney is heralded for her exploits in driving a dragster. Let the record reflect that she is also in the drag racing history books as the first female driver to have ever won a national event behind the wheel of a nitro-burning Funny Car. After a storied career, an event in 1971 stands as the only Funny Car national event victory for the lady whose Mustang also featured sponsorship from Fredrick's of Hollywood.

From northern Indiana on the south, all the way to Cordova in the distant southwest, to Rockford directly west on I-90, and even into Wisconsin north of the city, this was the region that locals knew as Chicagoland.

SOX & MARTIN, MCCANDLESS SPONSORSHIP OF HEMI CHALLENGE IS BOTH PHILANTROPIC AND PERSONAL

Few know the HEMI Challenge better than Herb McCandless. Even fewer have more experience with the Chrysler Hemi combination than the Sox & Martin.

Mike McCandless, the youngest of his three sons, grew up in a household where this popular car combination is revered. He learned early how Sox & Martin, as well as the

PRO STREET ICON ANNETTE SUMMER PLANNING COMEBACK; PURCHASES ICONIC PM CAR

If Pro Street icon Annette Summer's last five weeks could have been any more of a whirlwind, it would have been an F5 tornado.

Summer, the first lady of Pro Street racing back in the 1990s, in a span of five weeks has resurrected her old "pink" Camaro and took delivery of a drag racing relic.

Summer is racing Brian Havlik's Fastest Street Car Shootout at Tri-State Raceway in Earlville, Iowa. This is a reunion of sorts of the cars that raced in the early years of the NMCA.
