At CompetitionPlus.com, we are all about high horsepower competition and when we got wind of this new 2015 Ford Torino GT, we couldn't help but wonder if one day it will make its way to the drag strip.

According to Fordcarsinfo.com, Ford wants to make this car popular just like its other muscle cars. A good portion of the popularity should come with its engine, 5.0 liter V8 EcoBoost. Early reports indicate 443 horsepower and a torque rating of 525 lb-ft. The engine is expected to accelerate the new Torino from 0-60 mph within four seconds and the top speed will be 214 miles per hour.

The new Ford will be stylish with an eight inch LCD screen on the dashboard to control various functions of the car. The steering wheel is lowered, and the seats are leather. The car will be loaded with all the newest entertainment options.

The 2015 Ford Torino GT is slated for release later this year with an expected price in the $40,000 range.

It must be noted this rumor has floated around the Internet for some time, and while we have inquired from our friends Ford Racing, there has been no official response. If indeed this isn't a hoax, it looks to be a neat addition to the modern musclecar community.
