PDRA STARTS ITS SECOND DECADE THIS WEEKEND AT GALOT MOTORSPORTS PARK

 


 

GALOT Motorsports Park in North Carolina will kick off its 11th Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series season with the East Coast Nationals at Galot Motorsports Park this weekend. 

All 12 categories of the PDRA will participate in the East Coast Nationals, including professional, sportsman, and Jr. Dragster divisions. Teams will have two days for testing before entering Friday’s qualifying rounds and Saturday’s eliminations. The competition promises to be fierce across the board.

“The best in the business will be in North Carolina at GALOT Motorsports Park this weekend as the Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series kicks off for 2024,” said Tyler Crossnoe, series director, PDRA. “As exciting as it was to celebrate ten years of the PDRA last season, we’re even more excited about moving into decade two with our new series title sponsor, Red Line Oil, and all of the initiatives that we believe will take the series to the next level. We have some of the best racers in the world, and we’re looking forward to introducing them to even more fans this season.”

In the Pro Nitrous division, defending series champion Tommy Franklin will face a fierce battle, starting with Q1. He’ll square off against seasoned veterans Jim Halsey and Marcus Butner, battling for the increased $10,000 winner’s purse. Meanwhile, the WS Construction Pro Boost presented by P2 Contracting and Ty-Drive class will see defending champion Jason Harris leading a solid field of competitors.

 


Liberty’s Gears Extreme Pro Stock, presented by AED Competition, will feature a competitive lineup including past champions and defending event winner Dwayne Rice. PDRA Pro 632 will see Jeff Melnick defending his world championship and event title. Drag 965 Pro Extreme Motorcycle will showcase talents like Chris Garner-Jones and Brayden Davis.

Menscer Motorsports Pro Street, presented by Afco Racing, will kick off its eight-race season with reigning champion Bill Riddle facing stiff competition. Similarly, the Afco Racing Super Street presented by Menscer Motorsports class will commence its expanded seven-race schedule, with Blake Denton defending his title.

The East Coast Nationals will also include the complete sportsman lineup of the PDRA, featuring MagnaFuel Elite Top Sportsman presented by PAR Racing Engines and Laris Motorsports Insurance Elite Top Dragster presented by Greenbrier Excavating & Paving, among others. The Jr. Dragster classes will also showcase emerging talent in Coolshirt Systems Pro Jr. Dragster presented by Philadelphia Racing Products and Classic Graphix Top Jr. Dragster presented by Philadelphia Racing Products.
