NHRA BABY GATORS PARKING DELAYED, TESTING CANCELLED

Rain has a way of delaying drag racing, even when cars aren't scheduled to be on track. As a result, parking for this weekend's Baby Gators, The precursor to next weekend's NHRA Gatornationals, has been delayed.

"Based on current weather conditions (Tuesday, March 5th, 10am) in Gainesville, Florida parking will not begin today," NHRA Division 2 Director Rich Schaefer confirmed. "We will be in a holding pattern until tomorrow, Wednesday. A time to open parking has not been established as of yet. We need to give the ground as much time as possible to recover from the current rain conditions before haulers are moved into their pit areas.

"Delaying parking until Wednesday will also force the cancellation of Wednesday’s Test-N-Tune. In review of the long range hourly forecast, Thursday morning temperatures will not be conducive for on-track activity. Therefore there will not be a Thursday morning Test-N-Tune either."

The event is still slated to begin Thursday afternoon at 12:00 PM, with Q1 of Stock followed by Super Street, Q1 of Super Stock, Super Comp, Q2 of Stock, Super Gas, and Q2 of Super Stock.
