DIEHL OUT TO COMMANDING LEAD IN DAY TWO THROWBACK SHOWDOWN II QUALIFYING

EVENT SCHEDULE

With less than 24 hours left in qualifying for the Strange Engineering Funny Car Throwback Showdown, Jeff Diehl appears well on his way to securing his second No. 1 seed.

Diehl, although substantially increasing his vote total, fell to a 23-percent share of the voting over Austin Prock, who also fell from a 15-percent share down to 13.

Diehl is representing the late Jungle Jim Liberman, while Prock is showcasing the Detroit Tiger scheme made famous by his grandfather and former Funny Car great Tom Prock.

Making a major jump in Day Two was Bob Bode, whose Toyota Camry is adorned with the same graphics as Tom Hoover's 1979 Showtime entry.

J.R. Todd (Dale Pulde's War Eagle) and Tim Wilkerson (Chi-Town Hustler) rounded out the top five.

Hanging onto the No. 15 spot was Cruz Pedregon (California Charger)

Voting to seed the qualified field ends on Friday evening at 8 PM, EST. Those who finish in the Top 15 are seeded into the final qualified field.

The bottom eight vote-getters will be paired into the three-round ARP Battle to Final Eliminations, with the winner seeded into the final field

Final eliminations are slated to begin on January 8, on the CompetitionPlus Facebook Page.
