CHAMPIONSHIP PAYOUT DETERMINED FOR GOOD VIBRATIONS UNFCC SERIES

 

The 2019 Good Vibrations United Nitro Funny Cars Championship Series is a wrap for the season.  The UNFC Board of Directors wanted to share payouts for the Top Five points finishers in the Good Vibrations-sponsored series. Dollar amounts are a total of Event and Series payouts. Events were held at Tucson Dragway, Spokane County Raceway and Seattle’s Pacific Raceways.

#1 Bobby Cottrell – Austin & O’Brien “Northwest Hitter” $40,000

#2 Jim Maroney – Jim Broome Nostalgia Motorsports “Speed Sport” $24,800

#3 Tim Boychuk – Boychuk Racing “Happy Hour”  $16,900

#4 Ryan Hodgson – Hodgson/Papirnick Racing “Pacemaker” $13,000

#5 Geoff Monise – Van Gundy & Clark Racing “Quarter Pounder” $12,150

Both Bobby Cottrell and Jim Maroney won two events each and Ryan Hodgson won the season opener at Tucson Dragway.

Total UNFC payouts to seventeen Series competitors at five events are $150,450. All events were run under NHRA Heritage Series Rules; at each event both Winner and Runner-up fuel pumps at were sent off to Ken Crawford for certification and each passed inspection. Each event brought in Jim Black, the UNFC track whisperer for surface prep. If you’re interested in racing in the Good Vibrations UNFC Championship Series for 2020, there are five events planned for next season, plus one bonus race.

Membership fee is $2,500 for five 8-car, quarter mile races paying $7,500 to Win, Runner-up $5,000, Semis $3,500, First round $2,500 with $1,000 each paid to ninth and tenth qualifier.
