ARP TO SPONSOR NEW NHRA 6-SECOND CLUB FOR FACTORY X CARS

NHRA officials have revealed that Automotive Racing Products (ARP) will serve as the title sponsor for the inaugural "ARP Six-Second Club" in the Holly EFI NHRA Factory X category. This new segment, dedicated to vehicles manufactured in 2019 and beyond, is set to embark on its first full season in 2024, spanning eight national events, commencing with the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on April 12-14, and concluding at the NHRA Nevada Nationals in Las Vegas on Oct. 31-Nov. 3.

The "ARP Six-Second Club" is designed to recognize the first eight drivers in Holly EFI NHRA Factory X to achieve six-second runs during competition. A cash prize awaits these trailblazers, with the pioneer driver securing $10,000, and the runner-up receiving $5,000. Additionally, each of the remaining six drivers hitting the six-second mark will be rewarded monetarily. Alongside the cash incentives, all eight drivers achieving this feat will be honored with a trophy and an exclusive "ARP Six-Second Club" jacket.

Chris Raschke, ARP's Director of Sales and Marketing, expressed enthusiasm for the endeavor.

“We’re very excited to put this ‘ARP Six-Second Club’ together. This is a very creative class, there’s a lot of very smart people in the category and I think it’s going to attract a lot of people,” said Chris Raschke, ARP Director of Sales and Marketing. “Everyone at ARP is about supporting the racers. That’s our bread and butter and we all think this class is the start of something big. It’s a very cool class. ARP is looking forward to supporting this class and these racers, and we’re proud to be involved. The teams in this class are going to put together some really exciting things and we’re happy to be part of it.”

ARP's longstanding expertise in fastener technology, coupled with its extensive partnership with NHRA teams across various racing tiers, positions the company as a natural fit for involvement in the Holley EFI NHRA Factory X category.

Noteworthy specifications of the class include a minimum weight requirement of 2,650 pounds, significantly lighter than Factory Stock Showdown cars, and a mandatory manual transmission. Cars within the category feature distinctive specifications, with COPO Camaros equipped with a 630-hp Magnuson 2.65-L supercharger, DragPak Challengers utilizing a 630-hp, 3.0-L Whipple, and the Cobra Jet 327 Mustang boasting a 610-hp, 3.0-L Whipple engine.

Strict adherence to OEM dimensional standards is mandatory, precluding alterations to the bodies of the vehicles. Additionally, cars must race on tires measuring 33 inches tall and 10.5 inches wide, dimensions exceeding those of FSS cars.

The Holley EFI NHRA Factory X category is poised to captivate audiences with its potential for remarkable performance metrics and standout runs. The prospect of a six-second pass looms on the horizon for the 2024 season, following the category's impressive debut during the latter stages of the 2023 NHRA season, where notable competitors registered multiple low seven-second runs.

Brad Gerber, NHRA Vice President and Chief Development Officer, expressed excitement over ARP's involvement, asserting that it enhances the allure of the Holley EFI NHRA Factory X category.

“We’re thrilled to introduce this program from a great partner like ARP, which adds even more excitement to the new Holley EFI NHRA Factory X category,” said Brad Gerber, NHRA Vice President and Chief Development Officer. “ARP sees the potential in this class, and it’s quickly become a very innovative category. There’s a lot of interest in Factory X and a bonus like this for the first six-second run adds even more incentive for our race teams and also gives fans something very cool to look forward to this year.”
