Former NHRA Competition Director Steve Gibbs, who supervised the Safari, said of Frizzell, "Jim was usually the first guy there in the morning and the last guy to leave. He'd do anything it took to get it done. He'd be out there scraping the track or whatever needed to be done, and he just loved. You could always count on him. He never complained or asked for anything. He was just delighted to be part of it all. If I had a list of loyal, dedicated, hard-working, all-around great guys, he'd be on that list."

Services will be Friday April 17 at 2:00 p.m. Central, at Leak Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 945 Lincoln Rd. in Montgomery, Ala.  Visitation will be Thursday April 16, from 5-7 p.m.
