Two weeks ago, the NHRA Pro Modified series was on life support, if not already dead. It was the tireless efforts of Pro Modified team owner Roger Burgess, Brammer and a handful of other dedicated Pro Modified entities who stepped up to create one final opportunity to succeed.

Burgess, owner of ProCareRx, a national pharmacy benefit management company, was instrumental in delivering series sponsorship through Get Screened America.

Get Screened America is a national health screening and health awareness program related to diabetes, hypertension and depression. More details will be available shortly at the company's forthcoming website.

Brammer issued a statement to the media on Wednesday evening detailing the new Get Screened America NHRA Pro Modified Challenge.

The series will compete for a winner’s purse of $10,000 with a runner-up of $5,000. First round money will be $1,000.

A championship points fund will offer $25,000 winner-take-all bounty, this in addition to a $25,000 Shootout prize for the winner with $10,000 spread amongst the other seven teams in the competition.

In 2008, there will be an entry fee of $1,000 per event to compete, and no team will be allowed to park or participate until the fee is paid. There are no refunds on this entry fee.

For the Pro Mod teams, there’s the new perk of a series hospitality area for all participants to use. Along with the six credentials teams will receive with their registration, they will also receive six hospitality passes that include two meals per day and drinks. Additional passes will be available for a nominal fee. A hospitality schedule was not available at press time.

A new website for the series will be up very soon at www.promodchallenge.com .
