Allen Johnson of Greeneville, Tenn., drove his MOPAR-sponsored 2006 Dodge Stratus to the top of the 14-car heap during qualifying today in preparation for Saturday’s fourth annual Las Vegas Pro Stock Showdown at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series pilot ran the quarter mile in 6.709 sec., at 205.63 mph.

Jeg Coughlin, defending Pro Stock champion and winner of the 2007 event, was second at 6.712 sec./205.44 mph.
More cars are expected to arrive tonight and participate in Saturday’s final round of qualifying at 10 a.m. The first round of Pro Stock eliminations is set for noon Saturday.
