NOSTALGIA FUNNY CAR CALENDAR IN THE WORKS

nfc_1.jpgIf you prefer the modern day old school Funny Cars over the current creations competing on the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing series, then drag racing website owners Mark King (Nostalgia Funny Car news) and Dean Murdoch (SpeedZone Magazine.com) will soon have a calendar that caters to your preference.

The two are combining forces to present a unique Nostalgia Funny Car calendar featuring 12 of the most popular cars of this type in North America.

Such a project comes natural for Murdoch, who has been in the forefront of producing Drag Racing calendars for the last nine years and has produced close to 30 different ones in that time. Among his pass ventures includes Top Alcohol calendars, Super Stock Hemi calendars, Pro Mod calendars and Top Sportsman/Doorslammer calendars have proven to be very popular amongst the various teams seeking added exposure that comes along with such a venture.

“The cost of producing a 14 page 11x17 inch full color calendar is very expensive, but due to the volume and sourcing the best printers out there, we are able to produce this marketing tool for around $4.00 per copy,” Murdoch said. “We will produce around 2500 copies and they will be available for shipping by December 1st at the latest.”

Murdoch said the only related fee for inclusion into the calendar is that a sponsor must commit to the purchase of at least 100 copies at a cost of $4.00 ($400.00 total) each plus a minimal shipping charge (roughly $30 for 100 copies). He added that most teams in the past (of the other calendars produced) have requested more than 100 copies and more than the minimum are available for the reduced cost of $3.50 each, over and above the first 100 (plus shipping).

If a team participates, their page (month) includes an 8x10 color photo on the top of the page along with a team logo, driver name and type of car, and if you wish a sponsor logo as well. We will also have 2-4 smaller photos on your page (top and/or bottom half). Inset on the days of the month (bottom half) will include a shaded picture of their car as well.

“Being the first time ever for a nostalgia calendar like this, I expect this to be one of the most popular calendars available,” Murdoch added. “We will have a limited number of the calendars available for sale online and if the buzz around the pits translates to excitement online, I expect we will sell out of them very quickly.”
