HAWLEY NAMED R2B2 GM

Following last week’s announcement by Roger Burgess, owner of R2B2 Racing, that he was temporarily suspending racing Frank_Hawley_038.jpgoperations, Burgess announced today that Frank Hawley will become General Manager of R2B2 Racing.  

Hawley, who drove selected races for Burgess in 2008 as a Teammate of Melanie Troxel is well known in NHRA Drag Racing having won two NHRA World Championships in Funny Car and numerous National titles in Top Fuel in addition to being the owner and operator of Frank Hawley’s Drag racing School.

Hawley, who drove selected races for Burgess in 2008 as a Teammate of Melanie Troxel is well known in NHRA Drag Racing having won two NHRA World Championships in Funny Car and numerous National titles in Top Fuel in addition to being the owner and operator of Frank Hawley’s Drag racing School.

“As part of the restructuring of R2B2 racing I have brought Frank Hawley on board to assist me in the operation of my racing business.” said Burgess. “Frank is well respected in the sport and has a wide range of skills and experience that make him uniquely qualified for this position.  As I said last week, I am committed to building a successful racing business and core to that business is the people that operate it.  I’m confident Frank will do a great job for R2B2 Racing.”

“Driving some races for Roger last season allowed me to spend some time with him and he shared with me his vision for the long term future of R2B2 racing.” said Hawley. “I am excited about the opportunity to help Roger attain his goals of developing a successful racing enterprise. Roger has had a very prosperous business career.  His background and knowledge will be a huge asset to us as we prepare for an exciting future at R2B2 Racing.  I know he will provide us with everything we need to take this team to the top.”

 Hawley will continue to operate and teach classes at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School.
