Don Schumacher confirmed with CompetitionPlus.com that although Mopar has pulled back its sponsorships with his team, he will continue to support the manufacturer.

“I have lots of Dodge Chargers mounted, and in place to go racing with,” Schumacher confirmed. “I’ve been supported by Dodge and Mopar for many years. I certainly plan to support them to the best of my ability.

“Every team always searches for factory support and that could change at any time.”

With that said, Schumacher confirmed he will field three Dodge Charger Funny Cars in 2009 with Ron Capps, newly signed Matt Hagan and Jack Beckman, rumored to be in his final season with DSR.

Schumacher warned the changing economy could change the complexion of any team at any given time.

“With the state of the economy, anything could change at any given time – even this afternoon,” Schumacher admitted. “I hope everybody understands that, even the NHRA. This is a really tough, tough time and we have to do the best we can for every sponsor out here.

“Every team owner, track owner and the NHRA needs to pull together during this tough time in our economy and work as hard as we can together to the best of our ability for every fan and every team out here.”
