BUSY WEEK FOR CLAY MILLICAN

Top Fuel driver Clay Millican will share his driving experiences with auto-shop students from El Camino and Ramona high schools from the San Diego area during the weekend of the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals. The students are featured in Drag Race High, a television program that Millican hosts.

“I’ll be speaking Wednesday morning at the YES program about driving the Top Fuel car and about Drag Race High, our television show that we are currently filming,” said Millican. “It is coming up on the Speed channel. We will have a lot of students out from both high schools who are competing. That will be a lot of fun. “We will continue filming throughout the weekend and give the kids the opportunity to see what I do in my office. I’ve certainly been in their classroom enough this year to have an idea of what they are doing. We thought it would be a great opportunity to bring the students out to experience NHRA Drag Racing firsthand. They’ll be able to see how it is done at the professional level.

“A lot of these kids are interested in making a career out of working on cars, chasing sponsors, and all of the things associated with what we do. It’s going to be awesome for the kids to see a national event.”

Top Fuel driver Doug Herbert and Funny Car driver Cruz Pedregon also are expected to meet with the students.

“When that’s all over, then I get to do the fun part of my job, which is driving our car,” concluded Millican.
