Lucas Oil has sponsored the popular race since 2003.

“To me Brainerd is more than just a race, it’s an event and I’m sure that the tens of thousands of fans attending feel the same way,” said Forrest Lucas, president and CEO of Lucas Oil Products. “This race also gives us a connection to our Canadian customers and personnel.  In our mind this is one of the top races of the year, this is the only event that has the ‘ZOO’ and the fun associated with that experience is an event in itself.”

The sponsorship renewal continues Lucas Oil’s strong commitment to NHRA Drag Racing. The company also sponsors the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, NHRA’s developmental touring series where the future stars of the sport are born. The company also sponsors Top Fuel dragsters driven by Morgan Lucas and J.R. Todd, as well as several teams in the Lucas Oil Series.

“Lucas Oil continues to be a valuable partner in NHRA Drag Racing and we appreciate their tremendous support of NHRA, the teams and our fans,” said Gary Darcy, NHRA senior vice president of sales and marketing. “The extension of its title rights sponsorship of the highly popular event at Brainerd International Raceway is yet another example of their commitment to NHRA.”
