Top Fuel motorcycle rider Korry Hogan of Denver, Colo., made the first 250 mile per hour run in history on a motorcycle. The record-setting pass came in the second round of qualifying of the AMA Dragbike Fall Nationals on Saturday, October 11.

Hogan, in the Budweiser lane of the track, launched hard and at first had difficulty maintaining control. When Hogan got to the far end of the track, history was made with a 5.95 second ET pass at 250.97 mph. The pass was a national speed record for the AMA and a motorcycle track speed record for Summit Motorsports Park. Hogan beat the old AMA Top Fuel motorcycle speed record of 245.36 mph set in March, 2006 by Larry McBride of Poquoson, Va. Hogan was runner up of the weekend’s race, losing to McBride in Sunday’s elimination rounds.

The AMA Dragbike Fall Nationals event at Summit Motorsports Park, held October 11 and 12, was the seventh race of the eight-race AMA Dragbike Championship Series.
