AUSSIE TOP DOORSLAMMER TEAM RELEASES DRIVER

Following an in depth review of both the on track and off track performances of the Brett Stevens Racing team after the launch of the 2008/2009 ANDRA Championship series, team boss Brett Stevens has the following statement to make in relation to his Top Doorslammer drivers.

“One of the most critical aspects in Drag Racing is ensuring the safety of all people involved in what is one of the most dangerous sports you can compete in,” Stevens said.

“When operating the world’s largest professional Drag Racing team, this position becomes even more significant as we have more lives at potential risk and therefore require that specific safety measures are upheld above and beyond those normally necessary.” Following an in depth review of both the on track and off track performances of the Brett Stevens Racing team after the launch of the 2008/2009 ANDRA Championship series, team boss Brett Stevens has the following statement to make in relation to his Top Doorslammer drivers.

“In addition there is also many other additional challenges and pressures on team members including standards of performance and professionalism so mistakes are not made.”

“In light of these circumstances and our early season review, the Brett Stevens Racing team will be releasing Kym Usher from the team and placing a new driver in the Makita Top Doorslammer commencing at the second round of the 2008/2009 ANDRA Top Doorslammer Championship series.”

“With the recent rain-out of the first round of the series, this should have a very minimal impact on the Championship standings for the team.”

“It is an unfortunate circumstance as I feel Kym definitely has the potential to make a mark in the professional ranks of Australian Drag Racing, which he showed with his great performances during testing and licensing, but at this stage of both his professional and personal career I feel that I have made the correct decision for the team.”

“We are currently in discussions with a suitable replacement driver and will make an announcement when details have been finalised.”
