JET FUNNY CAR NATS AT FIREBIRD

The Aero Jet Nitro Funny Car Finals will be held October 25th 2008 at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler Arizona. This NEWPOSTERFRONT3sm.jpgevent will feature over 16 Blown Nitro Funny Cars from the Nitro Funny Car Association competing in a Chicago Style format for a record purse of $42,000.00, and a 16 car field of Blown Alcohol Funny Cars from the California Independent Funny Car Association. There will also be a field of A Fuel Front Engine Dragsters and Jet Cars to round out this historic show.

Cruz Pedregon will make his debut at this historic event behind the wheel of John Powers "Powers Steel" Camaro Blown Nitro Funny Car. NHRA Funny Car Pilot Del Worsham will once again be competing in his "Blue Max" Ford Mustang II Funny Car. Other Nitro Funny Car Association Member Teams that are expected to be competing at this event include Bucky Austin in the "Northwest Hitter" Arrow, Kris Krabill in the "Pedaler" Arrow, Mike Grekul in the "Plueger & Gyger" Mustang, Terry Capp in the "Bubble Up" Firebird, Mike Halstead in the "Nitro Charger" Daytona, Mike Adams in the "Coors" Corvette, Dale Pulde in the "War Eagle" Firebird, Mike Savage in the "Speed Sport" Barracuda, Sean Dale in the "Shakey Situation" Charger, James Day in the "Holy Toledo" Jeep, Ed Dougan in the "Nitro Psycho" Arrow, Lee Paul Jennings in the "Code Red" Challenger, Bob Godfrey in the "Burn N Money" Camaro, Mark Sanders in the "Mr. Explosive" Nova, Ron Maroney in the "Shark Attack" Corvette, and Steve Nichols in the "Mill Road Boys" Camaro, and possibly Jack Harris in the "Nitro Thunder" Firebird.

The California Independent Funny Car Association will bring out a 16 blown alcohol funny car field to compete at this event. What makes this event unusual is that it will be just the second event that the CIFCA funny cars will be competing under their new 7.20 index.

Gates open at 5 PM for spectators with ticket prices set at $23.00 for adults and children under 12 free with a paid adult admission. The first round of Nitro Funny Car action starts at 7 PM. For more information visit AA/FC News or Firebird Raceway.
