Some traditions are too good to end.

Weisinger confirmed the 16th Annual World Street Nationals pre-race party Thursday, October 30 at Hooters on Lake Underhill will be rocking this year. For as long as Orlando Speed World Dragway promoter Carl Weisinger has staged his incredible World Street Nationals event, there has been a pre-event party at Hooters.

Weisinger confirmed the 16th Annual World Street Nationals pre-race party Thursday, October 30 at Hooters on Lake Underhill will be rocking this year.

“New management has promised to have some more points of sale for food and beverages,” Weisinger said. “There is another new business complex across the street and just east of Hooters that is usually closed down by 5:30 PM so that will open up some more paved parking and the fence is being removed from the big grass lot next door.”

Weisinger admitted the gathering is a huge one.

“We no doubt set a record for the biggest single day crowd this Hooters has ever had and they would like to have us back again,” Weisinger said. “Besides, this is a great place for hot chicks and cold beverages.  Why, I even think they may bring in some extra hooters.”

Weisinger added that due to some unfortunate incidents at events in other parts of the US, this pre-party will not feature an organized "cruise".

“Street legal rods, Pro Street cars, and muscle cars may display at the WSN pre-race party in the main parking lot at Hooters,” Weisinger added.

Each year the World Street Nationals attracts the largest gathering of Pro Street-style race vehicles for three days of drag racing. This year’s event is scheduled for Friday Oct. 31 – November 2, 2008.
