Top Alcohol Funny Car racer Steve Harker has an affinity for doing things in pairs.

The father of twin drag racing daughters, Kate and Diana, he added a second national event title to match his 2001 victory last Sunday during the NHRA Summernationals in Topeka, Kansas.

This monumental victory came on the same day he celebrated his 33rd wedding anniversary with wife Jenelle.

Harker drove his way to the winner’s circle from the No. 1 qualifying position and stopped such drivers as Alexa De Joria, Steve Gasperelli, Roger Bateman and lastly Sean O’Bannon on a holeshot.

The Topeka final round appearance marked his second in as many years.

“This win couldn’t have come at a better time” said Harker “My team works extremely hard and do an excellent job in getting the car prepared at every race we go to and I couldn’t have made it here without them. Our last National Event win was back in 2001 at Bristol, so it’s an awesome feeling to come to this event and make the finals two years in a row but this time I got the job done right for my team and our sponsors, Southern Safety Supply, OMS Graphics and Lucas Oil.”
