2ND ANNUAL WORLD FOOTBRAKE CHALLENGE IN BRISTOL THIS WEEKEND

The second annual World Footbrake Challenge presented by Jeg’s and BTE will commence this weekend, May 23-25 at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, TN. The event, which boasts a huge $100,000-plus purse will play host to hundreds of top-notch bottom bulb competitors from across the United States.

In last season’s inaugural event, two competitors normally known for their success in the Super Pro ranks beat the odds to overcome one of the most talented fields of footbrake competitors ever assembled. There, Tennessee racer Scotty Richardson defeated Alabama’s Luke Bogacki for the $50,000 prize. Carrying the flag for the Footbrake crowd was North Carolina hitter Chris Plott, who won $10,000 in Friday’s opening event.

This year, the event promises to be even bigger and better. Once again, race promoters Jared Pennington and Steve Stites have guaranteed the largest weekend purse in Footbrake racing, with a pair of $10,000-to-win events book ending the $50,000-to-win main event. In addition, supporting manufacturers have kicked in to supply various prize packages throughout the event, in an effort to distribute the purse to those competitors who are not fortunate enough to make the final rounds. Prize packages include “best losing package” for each of the first 5 rounds, a long distance award, hard luck award, best daily package award, and various other prizes to be distributed throughout the event. Sponsors for these great prizes include Jeg’s High Performance, Huntsville Engine & Performance, Mickey Thompson Tires, CSR Performance Products, B&M Performance, Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Nitrous Express, Advanced Product Design, Nitroplate, and the Last Chance Footbrake Race.

It’s not too late to be a part of the “World’s Greatest Footbrake Race.” Entry at the gate is $800 for the weekend. Take your shot at the largest single day and weekend purse in Footbrake competition in 2008: $50,000-to-win this Saturday night! It’s happening this weekend, only at the World Footbrake Challenge.
