D.R.A.W. PREPARING FOR AUCTIONS

The Drag Racing Association of Women is seeking items for its annual auction at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill., Saturday, June 7. There will be the usual silent and live auctions.

DRAW holds multiple live and silent auctions during the 2008 racing season, including the large annual silent and live auction held in Joliet, Ill., and a live auction held in September in Ennis, Texas. Small silent auctions also are held throughout the race season.

The range of items popular at these auctions includes racing collectibles, vehicle parts, custom or handmade treasures, t-shirts, team shirts, memorabilia items, anything autographed -- a little bit of everything and anything. If you have something you no longer want, remember the old saying, “one man's junk is another man's treasure.” Don't throw it out. Give it to DRAW for the auctions.

Please forward your auction items to DRAW Auction, c/o Rosalee Noble, 4 Hance Drive, Charleston, IL 61920. Mark your name on your contribution clearly on the inside and outside of the package so that the item can properly be credited to you. You may go to DRAW's Web site, www.drawonline.org, and from the article “Donations Needed for 2008 Auctions,” download a form to include with your auction item.

Items for the Joliet auction should be shipped to arrive no later then May 25. Items may also be dropped off at the DRAW Booth located on the Manufacturers Midway at any national event prior to this race, or at the actual auction site between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the day of the auction, June 7. Any questions, contact Rosalee Noble, 217 345-6537; e-mail rnoble@consolidated.net.

If you do not have an item to donate for the auctions but would still like to help, DRAW also has available sponsorship opportunity for our annual Joliet auction. Your individual donation would help cover the cost of the tent, tables and chairs.

Your contributions are completely tax deductible, as are any cash contributions made to DRAW. If you would like a charitable donation tax receipt for your tax records, please let us know and one will be provided.

For 23 years, DRAW has been providing assistance to drivers and crew members injured in a drag racing accident at a track. Since 1985, DRAW has provided $3,117,317 to qualified individuals. This has been made possible by the caring members of the drag racing community.
