All competitors attending the ACDelco NHRA Gatornationals should be aware that Florida is requiring anyone with semitrailers longer than 53 feet and/or those with a kingpin measurement longer than 46 feet to purchase a Special Road Use Permit to enter and to leave Florida

Any competitors with a straight truck or motorhome/RV with an overall length (truck and trailer) of more than 65 feet or a trailer length of more than 28 feet need to purchase a Special Road Use Permit to enter and to leave Florida.

To purchase a Special Road Use Permit, call the Florida Department of Transportation, 850-410-5777.

The document Special Permits for Oversize and/or Overweight Conditions contains additional information on requirements for the Special Road Use Permit. Note that Florida has issued an exception for the kingpin measurement of 46 feet or longer for motorsports applications, which is highlighted in the 2007 Florida Statutes on page 2.
