Following online polling, the NHRA Sportsman Racer Advisory Council (SRAC) members have been selected. Announced earlier, the SRAC is designed to maintain the level of communications between race officials and participants. The purpose of the SRAC is to provide a means for discussing and evaluating rules and race policies and procedures pertaining to Sportsman racing at NHRA events.

The advisory council will consist of subcommittees representing groups of categories within the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series along with Top Sportsman and Top Dragster. One representative per category group has been selected through online balloting from each NHRA division.

Subcommittee chairpersons were also named, including Craig Hutchinson in Top Alcohol, Rob Park in Comp, Bill Holt in Super Stock/Stock, Jonathan Adams in Super Eliminators, and Mike Rice in Top Sportsman/Dragster. Jay Hullinger will serve as chairman, and Bob Lang has been named secretary.

The initial advisory council meeting, to outline council objectives, will take place at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the ACDelco NHRA Gatornationals; those council members unable to attend will be connected via a conference call. Subcommittee meetings will be conducted on a regular basis to discuss topics pertaining to their specific category.
