Its' lightning speed fast, too hot to handle, yet so cool it has to wear shades -- enter Jim Yates Racing’s new Pontiac GXP Pro Stock car -- the Wiley X Eyewear Sunglass Machine.

J_Yates.jpgThe creative tour de force/speed demon will make its debut on Feb. 7-10 at the 48th annual CARQUEST Auto Parts Winternationals in Pomona, Calif., where drag racing enthusiasts will finally get their first look at the show-stopping good looks of Yates' new Pontiac GXP. Race fans will be sure to hit the brakes and take notice of the edgy new 2008 design, from its enflamed skull sporting a pair of Wiley X’s on the hood, to the extreme barbwire wrapping the car’s frame, the new Wiley X Sunglass Machine boasts the industry’s most intense custom paint job on the strip.

Designing the new custom painted GXP involved an enormous investment in time, beginning approximately 17 months ago, and resources on behalf of Wiley X, Pontiac and GM Racing. The final racing product combines sleek, sporty, aerodynamic features that closely resemble the racecar's Pontiac GXP showroom counterpart but with a very bold new paint job.

"We are truly excited about the evolution of our marketing partnership with Wiley X Eyewear,” Yates said. “The exciting new graphics on our recently unveiled Pontiac GXP Wiley X Sunglass Machine is the next step in our mission to really get the fans fired up about High Velocity Protection and 200-mph shades."
