KME, Inc., a provider of conveyor and material handling equipment to the manufacturing and automation industry, is pleased to announce a partnership with Mike Edwards Motorsports for the O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tenn., the weekend of May 18-20.
"We are excited to be involved with Mike Edwards and his entire organization for the event in Bristol," said Mark Elliott, president of KME, Inc. "With the close proximity to our home in Asheville, N.C., and to many of our customers in the North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia region, this will give us an opportunity to expose them to a sport we love and a race team with a mission we love even more. The mission of helping children while sharing the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our youth is truly giving them hope for the future."
Elliott, who started KME in 1994, has always had a love for motorsports, as he says, "It's a southern thing," and particularly became interested in NHRA Pro Stock in the late 1970s. "My interest in Pro Stock racing jumped when I heard a guy from Oklahoma who had just won the U.S. Nationals in Pro Stock, and while weeping, give all the glory for everything that had been accomplished to 'His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.' That guy was Mike Edwards and I have been a fan of his ever since."
For the Bristol event, Edwards Young Life Pontiac, will carry the KME logo and will help host the company's cliental.
"This is a great opportunity for our race team, to reach out with KME and strengthen relationships with their customer base across this region," Edwards said. "Mark Elliott and his group are the kind of people we feel honored to represent. KME is the type of company you want to surround your team with because they have a strong foundation of Godly principles."
