INTRODUCING THE RICH EVANS CHALLENGER

Renowned custom-car builder Rich Evans joined forces with Mopar® over the summer to create a one-of-a-kind Mopar-modified Dodge Challenger for the 22010 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nev., Nov. 2–5, 2010. Evans’ final creation, transformed into a modern-muscle standout utilizing Mopar parts and accessories, was revealed this evening at a press conference in Mopar’s 15,300 square-foot SEMA exhibit.

The Mopar makeover commenced on July 15 when the 2010 base-model Dodge Challenger arrived at Evans’ shop, Huntington Beach Bodyworks in Southern California. Evans’ creativity kicked into overdrive immediately as he designed an eye-catching, edgy new blue-and-silver graphic scheme specifically for the vehicle. Evans also disassembled the car and modified each part with his personal touch.

“This is one of the coolest and most interesting projects I have ever had the pleasure to work on,” said Evans. “Collaborating with the Mopar team has been a blast. The hardest part was going through Mopar catalogs and deciding which parts and accessories to use.

“The current generation of enthusiasts are all about being different and personalizing their cars,” said Evans. “This project demonstrates how they can use Mopar to transform their vehicle into something original and exciting.”

The customization was completed using authentic Mopar parts, Rich Evans Exclusive parts, and select aftermarket suppliers. Mopar parts featured in the build include:

Front Strut Tower Brace (MSRP: $359, Part No. P5155002)
Rear Strut Tower Brace (MSRP: $505, P5155751)
Suspension Kit (MSRP: $1,750 P5155152)
Shifter (MSRP: $550, P5155277)
4Cat Back™ Exhaust System (MSRP: $1,190, P5155283)
Cold Air Intake System (MSRP: $390, 77070029)
Engine Cover (MSRP: $362, 82212222)
Header (MSRP: $1,195, P5155235)
Vented T/A Style Hood (MSRP, PN: N/A)

Mopar also came to the table with a 451-cid HEMI® All-Aluminum Gen III Engine Assembly. The engine kicks out more than 550 horsepower, ramping up in typical Mopar over-the-top style the already-formidable speed and performance of the Challenger.

Rich Evans Exclusive parts utilized in the build include a lower front spoiler, left and right rocker, left and right rear flare, rear wing, hood scoop and insert, stripe kit, and wheels.
