AHDRA THUNDER IN THE VALLEY NATS HEADS TO BRISTOL

Thunder Valley rumbles back to life with the return of the popular All Harley Drag Racing Association Thunder in the Valley Nationals August 7-8.
 
Among the highlights at this event, one of the most highly-anticipated and well-attended events of AHDRA’s series, is the nitro-powered Top Fuel class which features machines that can run in excess of 230 mph.
 
With the arrival of the mid-season mark in AHDRA’s Screamin’ Eagle Championship Series, the competition is expected to be stronger than ever at the Thunder in the Valley Nationals.
 
Fans can expect to see plenty of fast action on the quarter-mile strip with three nitro classes, modified gas bikes, street bikes and more.  In all, AHDRA offers 15 classes of competition.

In addition to the racing action, a huge array of vendors will be on site at Bristol Dragway along with the AHDRA Merchandise Trailer.  While there, fans can register for a chance to win a Harley Davidson XL1200X Sportster Forty-Eight motorcycle.
 
Racing action gets underway on Saturday with qualifying at 9 a.m.  On Sunday, Sportsman eliminations begin at 9 a.m., with the professionals on the track at 12:30pm.
 
Admission to the Thunder in the Valley Nationals is $50 for the weekend and $30 for single-day admission.  Children 11 and under are admitted free and free admission is offered to active and reserve military personnel with proper identification.  Discount tickets are available at Colboch Harley Davidson in Morristown and Smith Brothers Harley Davidson in Johnson City.
 
Weekend camping is available at Bristol Dragway beginning on Friday.  Campsites are $25 for tents or $100 for RVs.  On Saturday night, fans can rock to the tunes of North Carolina’s Peace Pipe Band beginning at 8 p.m.
