The scheduled Mad Dawg Unleashed race on August 14th has been cancelled. The track management felt that since there were so many heads-up racing in this area that it would in best interest of the track and fans to cancel this race. In a prepared statement, wanted to let everyone know had planned on attending so that they can make other arrangements.

"We’ve had some really good racing this year at Mooresville Dragway," said Mad Dawg Promoter Mark Joyce "I really want to personally thank each and every one of the fans that supported us this year. Also, I can’t begin to tell the racers how much that I appreciate their support. I was hoping and looking forward to the final Mad Dawg Unleashed. We were trying some thing a little different and there was a lot of interest shown. We understand the decision and support the management at Mooresville Dragway. "

Joyce continued, "We’re not done though. We are entertaining a lot of ideas for next year’s program. We’re working several other people tossing ideas around. The main thing that we want to do is make sure that the fans get their moneys worth. We want to make sure that racers are racing for a good purse and having a good time.
