39TH ANNUAL NIGHTFIRE NATS RETURNS TO BOISE

leahIdaho’s largest motorsports event, the Pepsi Nightfire Nationals, returns for the 39th time to Boise’s Firebird Raceway, Thursday-Sunday, Aug. 12-15. A record $180,000 is on the line in the Professional and Bracketeer Championships.

Aligned with the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series, the Nightfire will feature a pair of 16-car fields for AA/Funny Cars and AA/Fuel Dragsters with national points and records on the line. Outlaw Pro Modifieds, jets, and the Stagecoach wheelstander will also be featured at the Heritage event.

The event will also host the nation’s longest-running major bracket tournament, which dates back to 1976. The Bracketeers will pay $5,000 to win on each of the four nights of the race. There is also the possibility of winning a grand total of $20,000 overall in conjunction with the National DRAGSTER Challenge. The event will also offer racing in Pro, Heavy, and Snow/Bike. Racers are expected from 16 states and three Canadian provinces. The event will also feature the Top Fire class for the quickest 12 full-bodied cars to take on the quickest 12 open-wheelers in a special race within a race.
