HIGHT VISITS SEATTLE AREA WAL-MART TO START WESTERN SWING

DSA_11652009 Full Throttle NHRA Funny Car champion Robert Hight will start the historic NHRA Western Swing this Thursday, July 8th, not at famed Pacific Raceway home of the 23rd annual NHRA Northwest Nationals but rather at a Seattle area Wal-Mart. Hight will be on hand representing series sponsor Full Throttle at the Wal-Mart located at 34520 16th Ave. South in Federal Way, Washington from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. signing autographs and meeting fans at this free event.

“One of the best things about racing on the NHRA Full Throttle Series besides going over 300 mph in my Auto Club Ford Mustang is getting to spend time with our fans. If they come out to the track we can see them but Full Throttle also gives us a chance to make some new fans by going out into the market to talk about the race as well as Full Throttle,” said Hight, a three time winner in 2010.

“My boss, John Force, calls it spreading the gospel and that is what I’ll be doing Thursday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. I’ll be signing autographs and if fans want to get a photo we can do that too. I really appreciate Full Throttle and Wal-Mart giving us this chance to promote our great sport. I think plans are also in the works for Bowen Scarff Ford to have a Mustang on display as well. It won’t be the same as my 300 mph Auto Club Mustang but the street version is pretty awesome.”

Hight is currently No. 2 in the Full Throttle Funny Car point standings and has three wins in 2010 as well as a runner-up. He has also been the No. 1 qualifier a class leading five times in 2010.

Racing action for Hight will begin on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. with Funny Car and Top Fuel qualifying. Qualifying will continue on Saturday with eliminations starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning. Fans can purchase tickets for the race by calling (253) 639-5927 or visiting www.ticketmaster.com.
