During the NHRA Route 66 Nationals in Chicago, Ill., Furr drove his way to the Super Gas title and a semi-final finish in the Jegs Allstar event in Top Dragster.

“The win at Chicago marked my third NHRA Wally in just under eight months time,” beamed Furr. “It was a very cool experience. To make another final round at Norwalk is just an unreal situation. I won this national event when it was an IHRA race. I really wanted to add an NHRA Wally to my Norwalk collection, but it just did not work on this weekend,” said Furr. “I surely picked up a serious amount of points though and that is the good part of it all.”

Furr believes part of the credit for his success belongs to part-time crewman Kenny Myers who has attended only the four races he has won this season.

In addition to his trackside help, Furr credits the support of his loyal marketing partners which include Hoosier tires, Sunoco and Bearden Oil, Milodon, Holley Ultra Carbs and APD, Hooker Headers, Harwood Industries, Autometer, Biondo Racing Products, TCI, BTE, MSD, Mr. Gasket, Weld Racing, Moser, PAR race engines and Scott Duggins, Mark Horton and American Racecars, CDS and Matt Zapp.
