AMERICANHOTRODASSOCIATION-filteredThe American Hot Rod Association [AHRA] has postponed another event.

Yesterday, the AHRA announced the cancellation of their Race City Motorsports Park event in Calgary. The postponement was due to the incompletion of repairs to the track surface as required by AHRA through the Sanctioning Agreement, according to the AHRA.

"AHRA was hoping that track management would have the surface raceable in time for this event to go forward," the AHRA said in a statement on Thursday. "The lengthy Winter and wet Spring have made it difficult to make some of the repairs necessary to hold an event featuring the Pro classes that would have been featured at this race.  AHRA is an organization that puts safety first and deems this facility unsafe at this time to host such an event.  We hope now that the weather is showing signs of Summer, that the necessary improvements will be made and this event can be rescheduled."

Just one week earlier an event slated for Marion County International Raceway was cancelled due to weather. The event has been rescheduled for July 2 - 4.

The AHRA, an organization which has been dormant for over 25 years, was resurrected under the guidance of Troy Moe. The AHRA has only completed one event on their eight-race Reunion Tour. Thus far one event has been outright cancelled and two postponed.
