Teel was transported to Stormont Vail hospital in Topeka to receive treatment for burns he suffered during the crash. According to NHRA officials, Wegner of Broken Arrow, Okla., was unhurt in the incident.

Following the accident and because of the wind, the remainder of Saturday’s bracket racing eliminations were postponed until 8 a.m. Sunday.

However, the first round of Top alcohol dragster and Funny Car eliminations did take place, beginning at 6:07 p.m. Central Time Saturday.
