Everything is bigger in Texas - and that includes the upcoming Super Chevy Show event at Texas Motorplex. The series is celebrating its 30th anniversary season and will be in Ennis for the third of 10 national events in 2010. The track has big plans for the Super Chevy Show this year.

The event, which runs May 21-23, will include drag racing, an autocross and the ever-popular car show, which is expected to feature the largest contingent of show trucks on the 10-race circuit.

And in response, Custom Classic Trucks Magazine will be on hand to view it all.

And in response, Custom Classic Trucks Magazine will be on hand to view it all.

CCT editor Ryan Manson will be on hand to present the "Best Truck" Award from CCT as well as scouting the grounds during the car show to seek out its next featured truck. Manson will also be blogging about the event on CustomClassicTrucks.com. He is also inviting truck owners to come out to the event, show their truck and compete in the autocross.

"Trucks are a big deal in Texas and we want to get the word out and invite truck owners as well as car owners," said Texas Motorplex general manager Gabrielle Stevenson. "The Super Chevy Show series has new owners and they are determined to make it one of the premier events in the country again and in Texas, that means we want to show the best cars and trucks in the state. I hope some of those trucks go over to the autocross event and give the cars some competition."

The Texas Super Chevy Show will feature several drag racing categories, including the True Street Cruise, a pro show that will feature fuel altereds and the autocross, a timed competition over a road-type course. But the main attraction will be the car show, especially the Truck Division categories.

The True Street Cruise is making its second appearance of the season after booming success during last month's Virginia Super Chevy Show.

This will also be the second event with an autocross, which was popular during the season-opening Las Vegas Super Chevy Show. The  Texas SCCA regional group will host and organize the event. The track is encouraging truck owners to take part in this fast-growing competition.
