Modern day Funny Car legend Ron Capps and Nostalgia Top Fuel barnstormer Jim Murphy head into Sunday's eliminations as the No. 1 qualifiers of the premiere nitro divisions at the 52nd annual Bakersfield March Meet in Bakersfield, Ca.

Capps jumped to the top of the Nostalgia Funny Car list on Friday and never relenquished his spot on the strength of a 5.703 elapsed time at 246.71 miles per hour.

Murphy ran a 6.165, 210.95 to lead the sixteen-car Top Fuel field.
